SikaPaver® R 111

(former MasterCast® R 111)

Set retarding admixure for use in the production of stabilised mortar.

SikaPaver® R 111 is part of a set or system of admixtures that improve the properties of fresh and hardened mortar by providing setting time stabilization, water retention and air inclusion according to project requirements.

For the RMX plant:
Long-life (stabilized) mortar can be produced and supplied at a different time than concrete production, which allows optimizing the use of the
equipment.     For the builder:
  • Uniformity in mortar strength, color and appearance is achieved, eliminating material waste.
  • Eliminates the initial delay in the morning to supply mortar to the masons (or paying overtime to the mixer operator to start work earlier).
 
  • Eliminates capital investment in the mixer and mixer maintenance problems and costs.
  • Eliminates time spent by masons in re-plasticizing mortar.
  • Eliminates the need to allocate areas to material storage and mixing.
  • Eliminates the need to clean the area at the end of the job.
   The SikaPaver® R 111 is designed to produce a stabilized mortar by batching and mixing on site. This mortar is delivered to the job site using a mixer truck. The mortar lasts stabilized for 12, 24, 36 or more hours depending on project requirements.
       
Conventional mortars should be consumed within 2.5 hours according to ASTM C270 "Standard Specification for Mortar for Masonry Units. masonry units" The stabilized mortar in conjunction with SikaPaver® AE 333 is stored in a plastic state for a specified period of time, which is regulated by varying the dosage of the admixtures. Mortar in use and left over at the end of the day should not be returned to the container because it could initiate setting.
      
The mortar can be replasticized without modifying its characteristics. When the mortar is placed, the water and the additives are absorbed, which makes the mortar behave with setting properties similar to those of a mix made on site.

Uso

SikaPaver® R 111 allows any type of mortar to be kept fresh for long periods of time even in extreme hot climates. During these periods of time, the mortar can be stored in the mixer and can then be placed and compacted like a conventional mortar.

Conservación

One (1) year from its manufacturing date. Normal precautions for chemical products must be taken for transport.

The product must be stored in original, unopened and undamaged sealed packaging in dry conditions at temperatures between +5 °C and +35 °C. Always refer to packaging.

Dosificación Recomendada

SikaPaver® R 111 is a moisture retaining admixture, this admixture has a dosage range, which varies from 0.3% to 1.50% per cementitious material, depending on the environmental conditions to which the mortar will be exposed, example: temperature and relative humidity.

     

For initial tests, it is suggested to start with the lower dosage and increase or decrease if necessary.

INSTRUCCIONES DE APLICACION

It is advisable to add SikaPaver® R 111 with the last part of the mixing water to speed up dispersion, although it can be added together with the mixing water or even directly to the mixer truck (in this case a minimum mixing time will be required). Avoid adding the additive to the dry aggregate.

   

It is recommended to add the SikaPaver® R 111 with the last 10% of the water required for the preparation to ensure a uniform mix.

   
Subsequently, add SikaPaver® AE 333 with the remaining 10% of the water required for the preparation of the mortar, ensuring a uniform mix.
